While on the subject of MJUC, everyone should check out MJUC Jr - it's a free taster, shall we say, for it's senior relative. I always turn AGC off on every plugin, with the exception of MJUC. With regards to automatic gain compensation, this plugin has the best AGC algorithm that I've personally heard, ever. The mk2 model normally wins the shootout, though. Occasionally I'll flip it over to mk3 mode and add some punch. I have MJUC on the MK2 setting living permanently on the drum bus on my standard DAW templates. It's now my go-to compressor plugin alongside The Glue by Cytomic. Having a choice of three different compressors - MK1/MK2/MK3 - in a single plugin allows for a wide range of compression duties to be achieved quickly and easily. There's not a lot more I can to add to the already excellent reviews of MJUC.

I own them all, and they're all 5-star quality. Many thanks to Tony Klanghelm for making such incredible plugins at especially incredible prices. I'd have paid many times more for this plugin than what I actually did. I can't remember the price, off the top of my head, but I'm sure it's in the $50 and below category. You can't go wrong with itīefore I say anything, I've got to note that this plugin is among the best bargains you'll ever find as a producer. it's replaced a whole bunch of other comps for me. I'm not going to go on here: it's cheap, it sounds great, the controls are straightforward. The other two modes seem, to me, progressively less "colored." It has a "hidden panel" with more controls for saturation, timbre, and sidechain hipass filter. It's basically threshold and output gain, with limited attack and release controls. MK I is the most colored: it has a fat and thick sound that's not fuzzy or muddy. It has three modes, which offer different controls. It's a compressor roughly based on the Vari-Mu model, and it's great strength is a sound with a strong feel of density or solidity wth a GUI that hits the sweet spot between controls/features and complexity. Klanghlem makes another compressor, DC8C, which is extremely flexible and has a variety of compression modes. The saturation plugin, SDRR, is extremely effective and flxible. The plugins are inexpensive and extremely well regarded. Klanghelm is a one man shop that makes a few excellent plugins.
